Thoughts on Adoption

As I wait I'm reminded of an analogy I read. About families, about adoption It goes like this....

Picture a mobile, floating effortlessly. Now whap one side and watch it careen out of balance. Over time, the motion slows and regains balance. It would be the same for our family.

After a blissful infant adoption in 2000, I thought we had it all figured out. You know parenting. Isn't that when we get into trouble? When we think we have it all figured out. Our next adoption sent our mobile spinning. And now, three years later, everyone has found their place, better than ever. So we're going to shake it up again, And I'm really excited.

We'll be traveling to Guilin, China for Jaynie Lin. She is 6 1/2 years old and currently in foster care.

Our plane leaves Nov. 16. We'll get Jaynie on the 18th. Stay tuned........

Jane,
I am so excited for your family and especially for Jaynie Lin to be coming home! You are such an inspiration to me! I wish I had your courage! Have a wonderful time in Guilin. That was a city that Ralph and I spent 4 days in prior to Beijing. We absolutely loved it! I promise to come visit you this winter if not sooner. Trevi would love to meet your children!
Safe travels and happy tears!
Wendy
